Odíhg Vèscoi (/vɛs/ /ˈcoi/ [vampire] [drunk (inebriated)]) is a subtropical Town located in Coldmere Dutchy, Fidhi̊si Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Odíhg Vèscoi is derived from the Tauric language, as Odíhg Vèscoi was founded by Vú̄w̄̌ Bë̂ 'Lily Magic' Gärmé̄ Vúchīnḱ Cú̄rmë̋ Upjohn, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Odíhg Vèscoi has a yearly average temperature of 23°C (73°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 21°C (69°F). Odíhg Vèscoi was founded durring the early 16th century in spring of the year 1519, by Vú̄w̄̌ Bë̂ 'Lily Magic' Gärmé̄ Vúchīnḱ Cú̄rmë̋ Upjohn. The establishment of Odíhg Vèscoi was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Vú̄w̄̌ Bë̂ 'Lily Magic' Gärmé̄ Vúchīnḱ Cú̄rmë̋ Upjohn struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Odíhg Vèscoi as a prison colony.

Odíhg Vèscoi was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Vèscoi is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Odíhg Vèscoi is is constructed arround a series of crampt flagstone mainstreets which form overlapping circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town is the proud owner of a properly designed set of renforced walls made from mighty querried stone blocks. Their construction and material choices would make a dwarf weap with joy, for each and every part of the elaborate fortifications are purly functional and robust well byond reason. Even nonexperts can tell the walls are an excelent defencive structure. The town's exceptionaly well made fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

Odíhg Vèscoi seems to be abandoned at first. There are people present, working their trades and going about their business like any community, it’s just they are absurdly quiet. Just as you start to think there might be trouble, you see most of them are reading. The entire town feels like a library, with those not reading remaining quite to not disturb those who have their nose in a book. The longer you remain in Odíhg Vèscoi the more you start to wonder if you’ve entered some strange open-concept University rather than a town, but you can’t quite say such with certainty.

Odíhg Vèscoi possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Odíhg Vèscoi has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Odíhg Vèscoi has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Odíhg Vèscoi has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Odíhg Vèscoi's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by vertical proportions, pointed arches, external buttressing, and asymmetry in the general shape of its buildings. The decorative features of the style were key, consisting of large arched windows, pointed arches, vaulted ceilings, flying buttresses, and sculptures integrated into the structure itself. Occasionally, for very important buildings, an array of sculptures or one colossal sculpture might replace the entirety of the entrance to said building.
